Robert Hurdman is a Certified Financial Planner® in Calgary, Alberta. He writes financial plans and provides objective advice regarding all types of savings and investment products.
Robert has worked as a financial advisor since July 2004. He earned the CFP designation in January 2007 and currently teaches CFP preparation courses online for Ashton College. On top of other industry courses, he earned a Certificate in Advanced Investment Advice in June 2016. He also holds a B.A. in International Studies from Laval University and an M.Ed. degree from the University of Calgary.
Robert most enjoys working with individuals and families, helping them to optimize their finances and their investment in order to gain peace of mind. Money worries can be gnawing and divisive, and so Robert’s greatest satisfaction has been helping people to get their finances in order so it is no longer a worry for them, and seeing people reach their financial goals.
There is no shortage of salespeople at the banks and in the financial industry, who sell products to earn a commission. Robert values innovation and fairness and builds trust with his clients by rejecting commissions (and even gifts from suppliers) and instead providing professional, personalized, unbiased advice.
Robert is married and has three children. He volunteers his time in his church, with the community scout troop, at the YMCA, on the board of the residents association and in his children’s schools. He also regularly trains for short-course triathlon.
Robert has been interviewed by Canadian Business Magazine and profiled in The Globe and Mail and on CBC The National.
