First: I made an error in a number of posts. I’m not going back to correct it, but I have now realized that I was mistaken to refer to XIN as European stocks. It is an ETF of the MSCI EAFE index. EAFE stands for Europe, Australasia and the Far East, according to BlackRock. While it does include European stocks, it is broader than I assumed. I am somewhat reassured to learn that it is, indeed, hedged to Canadian dollars.
Second: A few weeks ago, I posted a link to a page of calculations that I use to determine where the opportunities are. I have since broken the link, but not updated the original post. I have no way to tell if anyone was accessing the page, and no one has complained about the broken link.
Investment Dashboard – This is new. I am especially happy with the visual yield curve, since I haven’t been able to find this elsewhere. It’s only updated once per day, with info from the Bank of Canada website. The other guages are also updated only once per day (with end-of-day values).
